1915 Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees Service Photograph. The rivalry between the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees is perhaps the most documented and definitely the fiercest rivalry in all of American sports. Here we provide a service photo from a 1915 trip that the Red Sox made to the Polo Grounds. This was from a time when the Boston club, who still had the services of one Babe Ruth, was at the top of the majors. They went on to win their second of four Fall Classic triumphs of the decade that year. The beautiful action shot shows the Yankees' Doc Cook as he slides into a base. The 6.5 x 8.5" photo comes from the International News Service and has caption attached to verso. A tear invades the lower left corner of the print, but the overall presentation of the photo is minimally affected.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
