1914 Tris Speaker Original News Photograph Used for 1914-15 Cracker Jack Cards, PSA/DNA Type 1. If this image looks familiar, you must be a Dead Ball Era trading card collector. The folks at Cracker Jack made use of this classic shot in each of their two editions, trading out the stadium for the blood red background that characterizes the issue. The photo measures 5x6.75" and exhibits the typical light rippling but no condition issues of any real distraction. Verso features printed caption, editorial handwritten notations and a clipping from a 1981 usage of the image. Certainly one of the most famous shots of the Grey Eagle. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
