    Description

1914 Boston Red Sox Panoramic Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1.

UPDATE: This lot has an LOA from PSA/DNA Type 1.

One need only look at the staff that comprised the 1914 BoSox to gain a clear indication of just how powerful were Baker's Philadelphia Athletics of that season, which finished the season eight and a half games ahead of Speaker, Hooper and Smokey Joe Wood. The team that welcomed Babe Ruth to the Majors appears on this fantastic 8x35" image each player identified by surname below his image, with a caption reading, "Boston 'Red Sox' American League at Fenway Park, Aug. 19, 1914." The image is as razor-sharp as it is charming, complete with a bulldog mascot and gawking fans in the brand new ballpark's stands in the background. The front is clean and void of any major creases. Some staining appears on the reverse. The vast bulk of the photo presents as NRMT, making this certainly one of the finest. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
