1913 Honus Wagner Original News Photograph by Bain, PSA/DNA Type 1. We see Hans taking a low swing during practice at the ballpark, wearing his Pittsburgh Pirates pinstripes. As he reaches for the pitch, we can observe that arms are long and his muscles firm and sinewy. Because of his barrel chested physique, bow legs, and baggy uniforms, many have incorrectly perceived Wagner as being overweight and un-athletic. Nothing could be further from the truth. He was strong, fast, fit, and very nimble. Some gentlemen of the day in black coats and hats can be seen gathering in the stands in the background on what looks like a great day for baseball in the 1910's. George Grantham Bain is the photographer. Measures 3.25x5". NRMT condition. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
