    Description

1911 Baseball Players Cabinet Photograph with Honus Wagner, Cy Young. Hot Springs, Arkansas was the spring training headquarters of the Pittsburgh Pirates for most of the Dead Ball Era, and we suspect that many of the gentlemen pictured are related to the Steeltown squad. We can easily identify the greatest member of that team, Honus Wagner, front row, seventh from left. Cy Young appears as well--not a Pirate, but a member of the elite brotherhood entering the Baseball Hall of Fame during its 1939 grand opening. He stands eleventh from right in the front row.

Photo is identified at bottom right as "Essex Park, March 18, 1911, Hot Springs, Ark" and measures 7x9", with cardboard mount completing dimensions at 10x12". Minor edge and corner wear is apparent, but otherwise condition is remarkably fine. A handwritten "X" on the photo likely identifies the original owner.
