    Description

1910's Napoleon Lajoie Original News Photograph by Louis Van Oeyen, PSA/DNA Type 1. Louis Van Oeyen rose from staff photographer of The Cleveland Press in the opening years of the twentieth century to prominence as the official photographer of the American League, documenting almost all of the greats of the first fifty years of the 1900's in his artful and distinctive style. Any Van Oeyen work carries a significant premium among baseball photography collectors, particularly those bearing his personal stamp on verso, as this specimen does.

Obverse is a charming portrait of the man whose name was literally synonymous with Cleveland baseball. Borderless shot measures 7x9", with minor edge wear and a lower left corner bend. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
