    Description

1910's Jim Thorpe Original Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. The Hall of Fame football player and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist played six seasons of Major League baseball during his remarkable athletic career, and this is one of the finest photographic portraits from that time we've encountered. The 8x10" photo is touched by a few faint spots of age-toning, but to little distraction. Verso is stamped by "Greeley Photo Service" of New York City, suggesting the image dates to Thorpe's service to the Giants. Thorpe baseball photos are very rare and desirable. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
