    Description

1910's Eddie Plank Original News Service Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. Oft-forgotten when it comes to discussions of the greatest lefties to ever top the mound, 326-game winner Eddie Plank remains the record holder for most complete games and shutouts by a southpaw. The presented 7x10.5" original news service photograph captures a stoic portrait of the Hall of Famer. Clipped upper right/lower left corners and a pair of minor tears are the only flaws visible in the image, which shows mild handling wear. We should also mention that indentations, only visible at the highest levels of magnification or when held at an angle, outline the features of the hurler - this, in combination with the graphite rubbings on the reverse have lead us to the conclusion that an artists once transferred the image's basic structure to another surface. Two Newspaper Enterprise Association stamps with corresponding 1917 and 1919 dates are found below the rubbings. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
