1908 Cincinnati Reds Player (Unknown) Photograph by Carl Horner. The name written on the verso of this fine Horner portrait is "Hofman," but there is no player by that name in team records for the 1908 season in which the club wore this distinctive uniform style. So while the identity of the subject will remain a mystery, the real appeal is the artist, whose early 20th century baseball photography is considered pure gold to the cultured collector. This 3.75x5.25" oval derives from the famous "Baseball Magazine" archives. The slightest touch of wear at the 10 o'clock position is the only issue bearing mention. Type 1. LOA from PSA/DNA.
