    Description

1907 Detroit Tigers Team Cabinet Photograph with Ty Cobb. The finest team shot we've yet encountered of this Dead Ball Era powerhouse that claimed three straight American League pennants (1907-09) but never could grab that ultimate brass Fall Classic ring. Hall of Fame manager Hughie Jennings corrals the team mascot at center, and the twenty-year old Georgia Peach sits just beyond his right shoulder, clutching a bat and a fielding glove in his hands. Wahoo Sam Crawford, who would follow Cobb into the Hall of Fame in 1957, stands third from left. A handwritten notation at bottom establishes the scene as "Oct 1-1907 at Bennet (sic) Park." Lined page on verso features handwritten identification of all pictured. Tack holes at corners of the mount, with general wear, but image itself remains free of any troubling distractions. Image measures 8x10", with mount expanding dimensions to approximately 10x12".
