    Description

1896 Baltimore Orioles Imperial Size Vintage Photograph with McGraw, Keeler, Jennings & Hanlon. Ned Hanlon's Baltimore Orioles continued their diamond dominance in 1896 by winning their third straight National League pennant. Behind the Hall of Fame talent of Wee Willie Keeler, John McGraw, Hughie Jennings, Joe Kelley and Wilbert Robinson the Orioles atoned for a previous Temple Cup defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Spiders by sweeping through them in 1896. This period imperial photograph (27x22" entirety/20x15.5" photo) gives us a clear look at the Temple Cup champions. "Photo by John Betz Jr." is listed on the lower left corner while the front proclaims "Baltimore Base Ball Club Champions of '96'" as well. Light staining visible on the lower edge. This is the first such photograph we have sold of this size from the championship team.
