Rube Waddell Framed Etching One of the most gifted left-handed pitchers in baseball history, especially noted for his speed and for his strikeout records. In his lifetime he pitched 406 games, winning 193 and losing 140, for a percentage of .580. Waddell was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946. Also known for his extreme eccentricities including wrestling alligators, chasing fire engines, and being distracted by children's toys waved in the stands as he attempted to pitch, have created much curiosity among Baseball historians. Offered is a matted and framed etching that measures 20" x 15 " depicting Waddell with the coded text Dead at age 37 behind him. The piece is numbered #2/ 20, and signed in lower right by artist Grant Smith. Etching is a process where a piece of metal is repeatedly dipped in acid, along with engraving to create an image. Minor wear to the frame.
