Description
Hack Wilson Painting. Hack Wilson, who in 1930 set the all-time runs batted in record for a season, at 191. By 1935 Wilson was in the minor leagues because of his alcoholism. In his later years his wife rejected him, and in 1948 when he died his body went unclaimed for two days, finally being buried in a pauper's grave. The words Pauper 191 are written to the right of Wilson's stare. This painting is about the contrast of highs and lows that can be attained in ones life. The artwork was created by artist Grant Smith, and is Canvas on 2" stretcher frame, overall dimensions are 24" x 36".Auction Info
