Early 1950's Billy Martin Game Worn Fielder's Glove. Top-of-the-line Rawlings MC (Morton Cooper) glove was a favorite among Major Leaguers active in the early post-war years, and identical to the one pictured on Martin's left hand in an included 1951 photo portrait and a 1952 World Series action shot picturing Martin ending a dangerous Brooklyn Dodgers rally by successfully corralling Jackie Robinson's sky-high infield pop up that would have won the game for the Bums had it dropped. The glove exhibits multiple seasons' wear and is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Martin's half brother Frank Pisani who writes, in part, "This Rawlings Professional M.C. model baseball glove was owned and game used by Billy Martin for a good part of Billy's career. Billy was always known as an excellent fielder & this glove saw many a ground ball and even a World Series or two." A marvelous relic from a Monument Park honoree and one of the most flamboyant players ever to wear the pinstripes. Letter of provenance from Martin's brother. LOA from Joe Phillips.
