The early New York Yankees pitcher's submarine delivery is masterfully captured here, providing the viewer with an approximation of Ray Chapman's final vision on earth before being fatally beaned at the Polo Grounds in 1920. The following three stirring acrylic on board masterworks derive from the studio of Arthur K. Though Miller's style could be characterized accurately at photorealism, his works suggest far more than hypersensitivity to detail, with his brilliant command of light and shadow providing a soulfulness that no photograph could muster.
