Circa 2000 Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig Original Artwork by Ron Stark. Legendary Yankees rendered suitably immortal by one of the enormous talents in the sports art field. Ron Stark is descended from another giant in the field, Bruce Stark, who captivated readers of the New York Daily News for decades with his caricatures and realistic depictions of all the stars of the era. From his studio in Florida, the younger Stark has ascended to the upper echelon of artists, providing here a stunningly dramatic look into the Yankees dugout as Ruth and Gehrig eyed both their lumber and the opposition. If there is a more spectacular rendering of these two legendary figures on the same canvas, we have yet to lay eyes upon it. Measuring 26-by-22 inches, the painting was featured on the cover of Sports Collectors Digest magazine; it is matted with a raised canvas matting and bordered by a dark brown wooden frame that neatly complements the piece and brings its dimensions to 28-by-24 inches. The original art is also signed in Stark's script in red in the lower right corner.
