Description

Circa 1983 Rollie Fingers Game Used Fielder's Glove. Before the save was a three out affair a pitcher had to really earn his stripes. During the "early" days of the big league save, hurlers usually pitched two or three innings of mop-up duty. Such was the case for the mustachioed Rollie Fingers. Not only did the righty earn a Cy Young Award in 1981 but he also copped the MVP as well. Worn in 1983 by Fingers when he was still a Brewer is this Rawlings model XFG-6P glove. Heavy pocket wear and overall use is shown on the glove. We bet Fingers nailed down quite a few saves with this in tow. Constructed out of Heart of the Hide leather, the glove has heavy use on all angles and shows incredible wear on the index finger slot. "34" is written in fading black marker, right next to an equally fading signature by the Hall of Famer. The red Rawlings label on back shows great wear as well. LOA from Joe Phillips/The Glove Collector.
