Circa 1930 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Jewelry Lot of 2 from The Lou Gehrig Collection.

UPDATE: This lot includes a letter of provenance from the consignor.

The Yankee captain was a regular at the Elks Lodge in his hometown of New Rochelle, New York, and this pair of relics relates to his brotherhood in this charitable organization. Best is a watch fob featuring Elks iconography, a tooth from a member of that caribou species and, most importantly, engraved text on verso reading, "From 756 to Lou Gehrig." Lodge 756 matches that New Rochelle branch. Fob is stamped "14K." Also here is a small figural lapel pin of an elk with a ruby eye. No engraving. Letter of provenance from consignor.
