Circa 1915 Boston Red Sox World Champions Large Pennant. Magnificently rare pennant has scarcely appeared in the hobby since the famed Barry Halper auction of 1999 saw its Lot 497 realize $4,312. While the decades of suffering that have ensued since the production of this large (33" long) and important relic have since come to a close, clearly the vast appeal of this Babe Ruth-era beauty remains as strong as ever. The oversized red felt body of the pennant shows a stunning absence of wear, with a razor-sharp tip, and no tack holes, staining or tearing to be found. Only a small cut in one of the four tassels (which are quite often absent on the few examples we've encountered) is to be noted. It is certainly quite possible that no finer example exists. A truly special "pre-Curse" artifact.
