Circa 1914 Christy Mathewson Baseball Board Game. Most baseball board game fans are familiar with Christy Mathewson's 1922 game "Big Six," but very few are even aware of the existence of his first game from around the mid-teens. Called simply "Christy Mathewson's Base Ball Game," it is obviously a pre-cursor to Big Six in its simplicity. A board measuring 15x19" has a spinner in the center along with numerous outcomes surrounding it. At the bottom, a reusable white scoreboard (partial erasures on this example) keeps track of the outcomes. As an added bonus, this even includes the original cardboard mailing envelope which also features a photograph of Mathewson and the motto "Play Ball With Me." Fair condition but very solid.
