Description

Circa 1909 Forbes Field Stadium Seat. Honus Wagner, Pie Traynor and Rabbit Maranville are among the many baseball luminaries to call Forbes Field home during the long service of this gorgeous seat from the defunct Pittsburgh ballpark. Remaining in highly desirable unrestored condition, this masterpiece in iron and wood is a marvel of early century design. It retains its final incarnation of green paint, which has given way to an appealing degree of oxidation on the figural sides and has peeled slightly from the slats of wood that make up the seating surface. A tiny and original number "15" plaque remains imbedded in the top slat. A tough and highly desirable specimen.
