    Description

Circa 1900 Cy Young Cigar Tin Original Artwork. One-of-a-kind artwork was originally sold as part of a lot in the famous 1999 Barry Halper Auction, and represents one stage in the development of the design for the highly collectible Cy Young cigar tin, an example of which follows this lot. The bold black and white imagery here features a fine portrait of the pitching ace and unfortunate swastika imagery, which (it must be stressed) has no connection whatsoever to the Nazi Party. The offset lithography is affixed to a cardboard mount measuring 8x19" in size. Staple holes at the edges remain well clear of the artwork itself, which presents with no faults of note.
