Circa 1900 Cap Anson Cigar Box. Even health nuts have to voice a grudging note of gratitude to the tobacco industry for supplying the hobby with many of the best late 19th and early 20th century baseball memorabilia collectibles, and this tribute to the founder of the 3,000 Hit Club is evidence thereof. The early legend is pictured beneath a "Flor de Anson" banner on the interior lid, and left side of the exterior, with the lid stamped with that name as well. Box dimensions are 3.5x5x6.5". Expected handling/storage wear evident, but aesthetics remain strong, as our catalog imagery should attest.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
