2018 Albert Pujols Hit #3,000 Second Base Also Touched by Mike Trout & Shohei Ohtani During the Same Inning - MLB Authentic. On May 4, 2018, Albert Pujols recorded his 3,000th career hit with a clean single to right field against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. The milestone came in the fifth inning off pitcher Mike Leake, cementing Pujols' place among baseball's all-time greats. He became just the 32nd player in MLB history to reach 3,000 hits, and only the fourth with both 600 home runs and 3,000 hits, joining Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, and Alex Rodriguez. The achievement highlighted Pujols' remarkable consistency, longevity, and impact across two decades, solidifying his legacy as one of the most complete hitters in baseball history.

This second base was in the ground when Pujols reached baseball immortality. What makes it even more special is that during the fifth inning Pujols accomplished the impressive feat, two more eventual Hall of Famers also passed this exact base. Mike Trout hit a one-out single off Leake to begin the offensive onslaught. Following Trout's hit, Pujols hit a single to move Trout to second. Following Pujols' hit, Shohei Ohtani hit a ringing double to left field. All three of the players crossed this very base the same inning Pujols joined the exclusive club. "May 4, 2018 2nd Base 1st Thru Mid 6th Inning" is written on the underside in blue marker. An MLB hologram (JD 137895) is affixed near the writing. Four plastic Mariners references decorate the sides. Good use is shown throughout. MLB Authentic JD 137895. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
