    Description

2014 Lou Gehrig Day 75th Anniversary Game Used First Base from Yankee Stadium Signed by Derek Jeter. Though the Stadium he brought to tears three quarters of a century ago had fallen to the wrecking ball, the spirit of the Iron Horse commanded the new Stadium on Independence Day 2014, the 75th anniversary of Gehrig's famous farewell. Fittingly, the team honored him with specially crafted bases honoring the first resident of Monument Park during the first week of July, plaques on each of the four edges announcing the date of his speech and its most famous phrase: "Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth." This was the first base used for the entirety of the fifth inning as the Yankees hosted the Tampa Bay Rays on July 2nd. Later the reigning Yankees captain honored the former one with a black sharpie autograph, 9/10. A special relic that connects two Yankee legends in their final seasons. MLB Authentic HZ164574. COA from Steiner Sports (Jeter autograph). Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
