Description

2012 Detroit Tigers American League Championship Ring. In an embattled city with little reason for cheerfulness, the Tigers supplied some much-needed Detroit pride in 2012, a season marked by Miguel Cabrera's staggering Triple Crown performance and the Major Leagues' best pitching rotation, featuring 2011 Cy Young winner Justin Verlander and 2013 winner Max Scherzer. Though the big cats would fall in four straight to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series, many pundits count this Tigers edition on a single hand of the finest in franchise history.

Presented is a gleaming symbol of the team's success, presented to and consigned by Larry Herndon. The ring is visually identical to those worn on the fingers of Cabrera, Verlander and Scherzer but for the non-precious stones that adorn its face and bezel, establishing this as a "B" model.

The team logo "D" is fashioned from cubic zirconias and synthetic sapphires, and encircled by raised text announcing, "American League Champions." Left shank reports the original recipient's surname, Tiger head and logo "D," and eleven diamonds (zirconias) representing each American League pennant earned in team history. Right shank announces "Tigers 2012" with the logos of the American League and Major Leagues. Interior band is stamped "Jostens 10K" and measures to a size twelve (12). Weight is sixty grams (60 g.). Mint condition in original cardboard Josten's packaging.
