Description

2009-12 Albert Pujols Game Used, Signed First Baseman's Glove With Pujols Signed Letter.

UPDATE: Please note that this lot will be accompanied with two full LOA's from PSA/DNA, one for the item and a second for the signed Pujols letter of provenance. The MLB Authentic hologram stickers placed on the Pujols signed letter of provenance will come up in the MLB database as "Destroyed Hologram." The autograph on the letter is genuine, however MLB policy prohibits their stickers from being placed on player letters.

There have been very few knocks on Albert Pujols' game. Since Day 1, the slugger has performed at a level reserved for a select few. The only "weakness" of Pujols was his average fielding ability. Known for his tireless work ethic, Pujols made himself into an elite fielder as he copped Gold Glove Awards twice in his Hall of Fame worthy career - 2006 and '10. Offered is the the finest of the few Pujols first baseman's mitts to enter the open market. Players are extremely protective of their gear and Pujols is no different. Worth special mention is the gold Rawlings manufacturer's label on the wrist. Only Gold Glove recipients are able to have such a distinction added to their gloves. Pujols put so much use into this glove that the gold has turned into a brownish color."Rawlings Albert Pujols 5" is embroidered into the backside while the thumb has "A.J. Isabella Sophia" in similar red thread. Excellent pocket wear and outside use is exhibited. Pujols signed the side in 9/10 silver paint pen (MLB hologram FJ 293846) and inscribed "Game Used" for added benefit. A Pujols hologram resides near the autograph/inscription. Another letter signed (FJ 293824) by the homer happy righty is included. Pujols began using this style of glove in 2009 and through the 2012 campaign. Letter of provenance signed by Albert Pujols. MLB hologram (FJ 293846 and FJ 293824 autographs). LOA from Joe Phillips. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
