Description
The first championship in franchise history!
2006 Miami Heat NBA Championship "Type A" Ring. When one
finally realizes the ultimate goal of one's field of endeavor, it's
no time for understatement. So when the Miami Heat reached the
pinnacle of the professional sport eighteen years after the 1988
founding of the franchise, the team spared no expense, draining
gold and diamond mines to the bare floors to craft one of the
grandest Championship rings ever issued within the four major
American sports leagues. It's a team best remembered for the trio of Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade and coach Pat Riley, a group that will enjoy joint immortality in the Basketball Hall of Fame. After cruising to a ten-game margin of victory to claim the Southeast Division, the Heat would dispatch the Chicago Bulls, the New Jersey Nets and the Detroit Pistons to earn a Finals meeting with the Dallas Mavericks, who were also enjoying their first Conference Championship in franchise history. But after dropping the first two games of the Finals, the Heat took control, ending the series in six and setting these massive Championship rings into production.
This one was issued to a person named "Petrovic" we have been unable to identify, but it is an "A-Type" model identical to those earned between the painted lines by the players. The Larry O'Brien Trophy commands the center of the massive ring face, set into a faceted black stone, the only region not choked in genuine diamonds, over five carats in total. "World Champions" glimmers at the top and bottom edge of the face, while still more diamonds run the upper and lower perimeter.
The "Miami Heat" name and logo adorn the left shank, the latter inset with--what else?--more diamonds, above the word "Family." Right shank features an American Airlines Arena in diamond-studded miniature with text reading, "Petrovic, 15 Strong, Faith, 2006." Interior band is stamped "Jostens 14K" beside engraved text reading, "It Was Our Time, 6-20-06." Size ten and a half (10.5). Condition is virtually pristine. A GIA appraisal document appraises the ring at $45,000 with the gold and diamonds not including the intrinsic value of this rarity and first Miami Heat championship ring. We will include a copy of the original appraisal.
This massive ring, at 136 grams (9.6 carats of diamonds with 221 total diamonds), is one of the largest NBA championship rings ever produced. Easily, one of the most eye-appealing rings we have handled. Copy of GIA appraisal document.
