Description

2005 Houston Astros National League Championship Ring in Original Display Box. Gorgeous and rarely seen in the collectibles market, this ring awarded for the first National League Championship in Houston Astros franchise history is consigned to this auction by rookie Dominican right hander Ezequiel Astacio, who pitched eighty-one innings for the pennant winners. A diamond-studded logo Lone Star is grooved into a red stone on the face, surrounded by raised text announcing "National League Champions" with further diamond enhancement (.55 total carat weight). Left shank announces "Astacio First World Series" above Texas state and Astros logo designs. On right shank, "Astros 2005" frames an image of the home ballpark in miniature. Interior band is stamped "Intergold 10K," and measures to a size 11.5. Ring is flawless, and is housed within its original hinged cherry wood presentation box (5x8x2.5").

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
