1999 Pedro Martinez Game Used Fielder's Glove, PSA/DNA Authentic. While the steroid controversy has all but closed the doors of Cooperstown to anyone involved in the controversy, at least one diminutive pitcher will never be affected by baseball's dark age. Standing a shade under six feet and weighing 170 pounds soaking wet, Pedro Martinez was baseball's top pitching draw of the late '90's. His array of pitches kept Red Sox Nation coming back each time he toed the rubber.Black leather mitt sports Rawlings branding on the wrist guard and base of the thumb. "Jerito Neyla (a tribute to his children)" and "Pedro Martinez" are displayed in red embroidery on the outer thumb, while "Gold Glove Series" is branded on the outer pinky finger.
Heavy use is shown throughout. John Taube's research also revealed the following statement: "Judging by the amount of use on the glove, much more than one would expect to see on a pitcher's glove, it's our opinion the glove has seen use by a player in addition to Pedro Martinez."
