Description
1997 Raul Mondesi Gold Glove Award from The Raul Mondesi Collection. The 1994 National League Rookie of the Year earned two Gold Gloves during his thirteen years in the Bigs, and this is the second, dating to a season that saw him finish fifteenth in MVP balloting.The trophy's design should be familiar to all collectors with an eye for defensive excellence, topped by the eponymous Gold Glove at center, set upon a plinth bearing a photographic image of Mondesi in his Los Angeles Dodgers cap. The base announces "1997 Rawlings Gold Glove Award Presented to Raul Mondesi Honoring His Selection As The Finest In The Field!" A pair of Rawlings logos frame the text. That plaque is a bit bent and the stands for the baseballs that should frame the glove are missing, but the golden baseballs themselves are still present. It should be a fairly simple restoration job should the winning bidder wish to undertake it. Letter of provenance from Raul Mondesi.
