Description

1996 Roberto Alomar Gold Glove Award. A likely candidate for Baseball Hall of Fame induction if not for some unfortunate incidents during his stellar playing career, Alomar should be considered a strong investment candidate for those baseball purists believing it should all be about the numbers. And Alomar's were outstanding, winning four Silver Sluggers along with a ten Gold Gloves (leading all second basemen), one of which is presented here.

The instantly recognizable Award presented by leading glove manufacturer "Rawlings" was the Baltimore Oriole's sixth, earned for a season in which he posted a stellar .985 fielding percentage while registering 279 put outs and 445 assists. His smiling face appears on the central base supporting the eponymous Gold Glove, framed by a pair of golden baseballs. The plaque on the base is engraved "1996 Rawlings Gold Glove Award, Presented to Roberto Alomar, Honoring His Selection As The Finest in the Field!"

The trophy remains in splendid, undamaged condition, matching its unbeatable aesthetics and historical relevance.
