1995 Kirk Gibson Game Worn Detroit Tigers Batting Helmet. Following a few down years, Kirk Gibson was coerced out of retirement by Sparky Anderson in 1993. The cantankerous slugger reached into the Fountain of Youth and recaptured some of that lost magic. This "American Baseball Cap size 6 7/8" helmet was worn when Gibson was finishing up his Major League career in 1995. The size matches another known Gibson which sold previously. "23" and "ABC" decals are found on the reverse. Three stickers are applied inside: warning, American Baseball Cap size and Authentic Diamond Collection. The date wheel shows a manufacture's date of May 1995. An orange bill and Tiger decal add further luster to this catalog listing. Moderate use shown. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
