1995 Greg Maddux Game Worn Atlanta Braves Batting Helmet. An interior production code dating this helmet to December of 1994 strongly suggests that the Hall of Fame pitcher wore the protective headgear during his fourth consecutive Cy Young campaign, and his sole World Championship season. The most delectable vintage is only part of the appeal, however, as any gear related to the offensive portion of a pitcher's service is considered very rare, particularly one from an all-time great. Our records indicate no other Maddux helmet has sold at major auction in the past fifteen years. It exhibits solid game wear, with logo "A" decal on front and number "31" on back above logos of the manufacturer and Major League Baseball. Interior sticker reports size "7 1/8." Left temple is autographed in 9/10 silver sharpie. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
