Description
1994 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed Birmingham Barons Air Jordan Cleats - With Player Provenance! Michael Jordan always had an affinity for baseball. The bond between basketball icon and the sport of baseball reached a crescendo when Jordan retired from the NBA and tried to make it to the big leagues. While his attempt ended in the minors, it did produce a number extremely historic game-used items. Here we present an impressive pair of Air Jordan Nike cleats that our consignor obtained from a notable Major League pitcher Jeff Reardon's Leukemia Charity Golf Tournament in 1995. According to our consignor, he remembers Reardon telling him at the time that they originated from a White Sox announcer who received them from Michael Jordan.
Accompanied by a handwritten note from Reardon acknowledging that the cleats are indeed authentic, they exhibit terrific wear with dirt and scuffs throughout. Each signed in bold silver ink by His Airness, the left has the proper 13.5 tag in the tongue, while the right tag is faded, but we assume it is a size 13. The first MJ cleats we've handled, these are perfect in every way, from the wear, to the bold signatures, to the provenance. LOA from consignor. Note and envelope from Jeff Reardon. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
