Description

1992 Toronto Blue Jays World Championship Trophy Presented to Roberto Alomar with Player Letter.

UPDATE: Please note that central crown is loose.

It took nearly nine decades of World Series action for the ultimate symbol of achievement in our national pastime to cross an international border, and we find that symbol on offer here, the personal trophy issued to Hall of Fame second baseman Roberto Alomar for his contributions to the cause. The distinctive styling of this award features a ring of flags announcing every Major League team, with crown and baseball figurals at center. Pins sporting the logo of the Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves, who met that October, are positioned in front. Ringing the base of the twelve-inch (12") tall trophy is a golden band, which is engraved, "World Series Champions, Toronto Blue Jays, 1992, Roberto Alomar." Minor handling/storage wear evident with a few spots of oxidation. Underside of base bears "Balfour" maker's sticker and is signed and notated "My original W.S. Trophy" in 9/10 silver sharpie by Alomar. Letter of provenance from Roberto Alomar. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
