1992 Nolan Ryan Original Artwork Presented to Ryan Upon his Jersey Retirement with a Message. Update: This was created at the end of Ryan's career and presented to him June 16, 1992 when the Angels' retired his number.

Nolan Ryan may have been baseball's finest power pitcher. Seven career no-hitters and plenty of frustrated batters were left in Ryan's wake when he ended his Hall of Fame career. This original painting (26.25x33") by Craig Pursley was presented to The Ryan Express and honors his days as an Angel. The painting has "30" instituted on front in two-color tackle twill and depicts Ryan after throwing a heater. The artist carefully signed the reverse of the canvas offering and wrote this awe-inspiring message: "To Nolan Ryan I really appreciate what you mean to baseball as well as your reputation of integrity as a person. You are extremely valuable as an example to kids and adults everywhere. I hope you like my painting; I'm pretty proud of it and its difficult to give it away. But the fact is, you are the only person in the world I'd give such a painting to and I consider it an honor that you now own one of my originals. Sincerely Craig Pursley." We are including a newspaper insert from The Orange County Register which features this artwork on a mini-poster. We are posting a photo on-line with Ryan receiving the painting from Pursley.
