    Description

1990 Oakland Athletics American League Championship Ring. The genuine article, presented to former Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award winner Rick Burleson, who was serving the team as a scout this season. Crafted from stunning ten karat gold, the design features a tiny elephant with two brilliant cut diamonds weighing approximately .08 carats each, and a third weighing about .15 carats. The diamonds represent three consecutive American League pennants, with the larger diamond representing the 1989 World Championship. "Oakland American League Champions" spans the perimeter. The left shank offers the A's logo, framed by the word "Burleson" and notations related to the A.L.C.S. sweep: "A-4 B-0." The right shank pictures Oakland Coliseum in miniature, with the words "1990 Athletics" and the incredible season attendance figure of "2,900,217." The interior band is stamped "10K Jostens." Size ten. A special prize rarely made available in the collecting hobby, complete with its original wooden presentation box. One of two Oakland Championship rings consigned to this auction by the Burleson family.
