1988 Gary Sheffield Signed Player's Contract. A nineteen-year old Gary Sheffield applied ink to this player's contract in 1988, securing his services as a member of the Milwaukee Brewers system. The $7,000 that the Brewers got the player for that year was a bargain for his talent, and he was compensated the following season with a Major League call up and a pay increase to $90,000 in 1989.
