1986 New York Mets World Series Championship Trophy Presented to Jesse Orosco. If Mookie Wilson's dribbler splitting Bill Buckner's wickets stands as the most memorable image of the 1986 World Series, second place honors go to New York Mets closer Jesse Orosco, on his knees with his arms held aloft in celebration of recording the final out that sealed the World Championship. Orosco's five and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief against the dangerous Red Sox line-up was essential in the Mets' remarkable comeback, and here we present the symbol of the sport's highest achievement earned by the ageless southpaw.

The design will be familiar to any collector with an eye toward Championship prizes, twenty-six pennants representing all Major League franchises ringing a central crown and baseball design. Modified press pins representing the pennant winners appear at center. A brass band girds the base, engraved with the text, "World Series Champions, New York Mets, 1986, Jesse Orosco." Height is twelve inches.

The trophy exhibits a degree of handling wear but still presents very well. More than a decade later, the Mets franchise continues to await an addition to its World Championship trophy case. With such a large and devoted fanbase competing for such a limited volume of Championship spoils, we expect bidding for this offering to be fierce. Letter of provenance from Jesse Orosco.
