Description

1984 Detroit Tigers World Championship Ring Presented to Al Kaline from The Al Kaline Collection. Tigers manager Sparky Anderson and Padres manager Dick Williams had faced off once before, as managers of the Reds and Athletics respectively, and Sparky was able to avenge that loss to his fellow Hall of Famer this time, earning a ring identical in appearance to the one presented here. This one was issued to the Hall of Fame leader of the 1968 World Championship squad, serving in 1984 as a color commentator for Tigers television broadcasts.

Genuine diamonds form a baseball diamond within a blue stone on the ring face, encircled by raised text reporting, "Detroit Tigers World Champions." Left shank announces the vintage above a snarling tiger, while right shank provides the attribution to Kaline above a team logo "D." Interior band provides "Albert W Kaline" and "Balfour 10K" stamping. Measures to a size ten and three quarters (10.75) and weighs 26.56 grams. Original Balfour box included. Letter of provenance from Mark Kaline.
