Description

1981 Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Championship Ring Presented to Pepe Frias. The Major League career of this sure-handed Dominican shortstop ended with his release from the Dodgers organization on August 31, 1981, but the team generously remembered Frias' service following the final (to date) edition of the timeless Yankees vs. Dodgers Fall Classic rivalry with the presentation of the ring offered here. It would appear that Frias had mixed feelings about the honor, as the ring exhibits no signs of wear whatsoever, and remains housed in its original velvet lined case and cardboard outer box, 100% unchanged from its status upon receipt.

A real diamond measuring eighty-five points (85 pt.) is set into the blue stone of the ring face, which is encircled by raised text proudly announcing "Los Angeles Dodgers World Champions." The left shank reports the player's name and jersey number framing a Dodgers logo, while the right pictures the World Series Trophy and the year of glory. "Balfour 14K" stamping appears inside band, which measures to a size ten and a half (10.5). An absolutely pristine example of the same ring in the trophy cases of Lasorda, Garvey and Valenzuela.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
