    Description

1981-86 Joe DiMaggio United States Passport. The Yankee Clipper sets sail for foreign shores. Official US passport was carried by the Hall of Fame icon to such exotic locales as the Dominican Republic, South Africa and Japan, with entry stamps for each. A color photograph and "Joseph Paul DiMaggio" signature (9+/10) appear on the pages relating to the traveler's identity. Originally sold in the 2006 auction of the DiMaggio estate, with family letter of provenance. Also here is what appears to be an early 1960's snapshot of Marilyn Monroe, DiMaggio's ex-wife. A fine companion lot to the 1931 Lou Gehrig passport that commanded $262,900 in our February 2014 Platinum Night auction. Letter of provenance from DiMaggio family. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
