1980's-90's Gary Carter Received Correspondence from Major League Baseball Figures Lot of 11 from The Gary Carter Collection. Eleven important articles of correspondence are on offer here, each significant enough for Mr. Carter to retain for posterity. Most intriguing is a letter from the Commissioner's Office confirming Carter's placement on the Voluntarily Retired List, ending his playing career in 1992. Also important is a letter from Peter O'Malley regarding Carter's trade from the Dodgers to the Expos, and a couple letters from Bart Giamatti relating to the All-Star Game and Carter's peace-keeping efforts in a brawl. All show mailing/handling wear, but no issues of significance. Other senders/signers include Fay Vincent and Charles Feeney. Letter of provenance from Sandy Carter. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
