1980 George Brett Spring Training Worn Sunglasses with Brett Signed Letters of Provenance. A pair of letters from the Hall of Fame third baseman tell the tale. The scene was a Pompano Beach spring training meeting of the Kansas City Royals and Texas Rangers. "As the sun became less of a problem for me at 3rd base, I asked the 3rd base umpire, Zach Rebackoff, to put my sunglasses in his back pocket. An inning later, I was replaced in the lineup and both Zach and I forgot about the glasses...Now, 12 years later, I am verifying for Zach...that the sunglasses are indeed those which I wore that day." The letter is signed. A second, handwritten letter states simply, "Yes, these are my sunglasses from spring training 1980." The shades are dark plastic with medical tape on right arm holding handwritten, "5 Brett 5." Fine condition. Two George Brett signed letters of provenance. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
