1979 Mickey Mantle Signed Check. We aren't quite sure why Mantle checks are so maddeningly scarce. Our best guess is that the charming Mickey always had a lady taking care of his business, leaving him free to make baseball history during half of the year and carouse through the other half. In any case, many of the top check collections in the hobby are missing an autograph which is comparatively common in most other formats. This is a pristine example, apparently never used, as it lacks an endorsing signature, bank stamping or any signs of handling. Typed text pays two dollars to a "Paul Rogers."
