Description

1972 Jackie Robinson, Charlie O. Finley, Sal Bando & Caesar Geronimo Signed World Series (Game Two) Press Box/Field Pass Stub. The Sunday afternoon game at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati on October 15, 1972 featured Game Two of the 1972 World Series. But much more importantly, it marked Jackie Robinson's last public appearance, during which he gave an on-field speech with an heroic appeal for the integration of Major League Baseball management.

Presented here is a press box/field pass from that historic contest, the back of which is signed by Robinson, the A's eccentric owner Charlie Finley, Oakland third baseman and team captain Sal Bando and Cincy centerfielder Caesar Geronimo.

The blue ballpoint autographs grade an overall 8/10, with Jackie appropriately the largest of the four signatures.

As this was Robinson's last public appearance, it is probably one of the last autographs he ever signed. On October 24, 1972, just nine days after his appearance and speech, Robinson died in his home from a heart attack. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
