    Description

1972-73 Willie Mays Game Worn New York Mets Spikes. When the Say Hey Kid hung up his spikes for good at the close of the 1973 season, these might be the spikes that were hung. They derive from the personal collection of journeyman right-hander turned Mets batting practice pitcher Vito Valentinetti, with his handwritten letter of provenance. The black leather Adidas brand shoes are still encrusted with infield dirt and bear a vintage number "24" in marker on each tongue. Exceptional wear evident. The style perfectly matches period imagery of Mays at Shea. An exciting chance to own genuine game used gear from perhaps the greatest five-tool player of all time. Letter of provenance from Vito Valentinetti. LOA from Heritage Auctions.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
