1971 "Sport Magazine" Top Performer in Baseball Award Presented to Roberto Clemente. Despite trailing 2-0 in the 1971 World Series, Roberto Clemente and his teammates regrouped and won a thriller in seven games. Clemente was the main man behind the team's fall resurgence and took home MVP honors following the series. This 15x12.25" award was presented to The Great One for being Sport Magazine's top performer in baseball for 1971. Clemente's name is engraved to a brass placard - tarnished in spots - which sits upon a walnut plaque. Accompanying brass eagles are modern replacements for the damaged originals. An 8x10" of Clemente from the banquet will also attend. LOA from Vera Clemente.
