1971 and 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates World Championship Celebration Banners Lot of 2. From Roberto Clemente to Willie Stargell, the greatest names in 1970's Pittsburgh baseball were greeted on the World Championship celebration parade route by these banners, flown during a decade that twice saw the men in black and gold take the title. The earlier model measures 27x53" and is signed in 10/10 black sharpie by 1971 Series hero Steve Blass, who gave up a single earned run in two complete game victories. The 1979 version measures 44x54". Each is constructed from all-weather canvas and exhibits minor staining from the elements, but nothing that inhibits the fine aesthetics.
